Oh my god. [Skye reaches under her bed and pulls out her laptop and opens it on her lap in one smooth move.] I don't believe this, this is-- this is ridiculous.
[She starts typing something furiously, and five seconds later, she presses the enter key rather snappily and then turns the laptop around for Jesse to see.]
There. He's at home. In his house. In Virginia.
[Her laptop screen shows a map over Virginia, and a blinking red dot over Will's house labelled GRAHAM, WILL. It's not actually Will, though-- she still can't hack the tattoo signals since that would also include hacking into the government. But she can track cellphone signals-- not that it's apparent just by looking at the screen what exactly she's tracked-- without a problem. In less than ten seconds, it appears. Jesse, is this REALLY the girl you want to be dating?]
[She already told him that much - the tattoo thing - so he figures out that it comes down to cell signals. He's already wise to that, too; he leaves his own stuff behind when he goes out to cook. Everything but his burners. Yep, he knows exactly who he's dating. And he's happy with that, because she's the kind of girl who'll do this stuff right in front of him, so he knows all about what she does and how she does it and how to get around it.
Unfortunately... The blinking light doesn't reassure him, because Will Graham will know how to get around it, too.
This is one of those times when he can't let on that he knows, though. Some things he has to be stupid about. Clandestine activities and the like. Normal people don't think about burners and alibis.]
[Skye sighs with relief and lets herself slump back against the wall again, eyes closed.]
... Thank you.
[Only, now it's awkward because they both just arguing with each other and the tension is still thick in the air even if Jesse's backed down.]
Sorry. I just... [Just what? Skye trails off. Why is she even apologising? She doesn't have anything to apologise for. She was defending her friend, and she stands by that. Ugh. What a mess.]
Look, Skye... I know I ain't a pro like you. I know I ain't smart and I ain't good with -
[He gives a gesture to the laptop.]
- all this shit. But I know people. I know when there's something off with somebody. And I'm telling you, this guy... There's something seriously off. I can't tell you what to do, but if it was me? I'd stay the fuck away. Like, way the fuck away.
Jesse... I'm not going to suddenly stop seeing someone who's been nothing but kind towards me the entire time I've been here. And if he is some crazy person like you say he is... don't you think that my suddenly dropping off his radar and refusing to talk to him would be even more dangerous? That's the kind of thing that sets crazy people off.
Anyway, I don't... want to talk about this anymore. It's dumb. I missed you like crazy, I don't want to fight with you.
[Skye shuffles around on the bed a bit, until she can grab the duvet up from underneath where she was sitting and wriggle under it.]
... You're not an idiot. I... I get why you're concerned. And it's... sweet of you-- to worry about me.
[Or at least, she thinks she gets it, anyway. She just also thinks he's overreacting. She's hoping she can talk to Will and sort this whole stupid thing out and it'll blow over soon. It's all just a big misunderstanding. Right?]
And I haven't got it yet. Don't be proud of me until I pass the test. Don't wanna jinx it.
[That earns a small smile from Skye. Trotsky meanwhile is loving that. Aw yis. More more. He rolls on his back shamelessly, little tail wagging happily underneath him.]
Thanks.
[Skye gets comfortable too, snuggling up and closing her eyes. She stays like that for a while, happy to just enjoy the moment. She laces her fingers in between his on his free hand, uses her other hand to trace the tattoo on his wrist-- not the HERO one, the other one.]
[A brief flicker of some other emotion passes over Skye's face briefly, at the mention of Jesse's dad being pissed. Ah, right-- normal people things. Normal people have families that care if they get tattoos. What would that have been like? Skye wonders.
But then it passes quickly as it came and her goofy smile settles back into place.]

[He takes a moment to shrug his hoodie off before climbing back into her bed.]
Forget I said anything. I'm an idiot.
Hey, I'm proud of you, by the way. For the degree thing. That's really awesome.

I'm proud of you trying, anyway. That's the real tough part.

He nuzzles up to her and watches her trace his tattoo out of the corner of his eye. Girls love doing that. He's not sure why.]
You like it?

[He shifts his hand a little to make it more obvious. Maybe. It's still pretty damn stylized, but the pincers are there if you're looking for them.]

Oh yeah... I can see it. ... Why a scorpion? Wait. Lemme guess. 'Cause they're badass?

Pretty much, yeah. Mostly I just thought it looked cool.
My dad was so pissed.

Uh huh. I got your number, Jesse Pinkman.

He completely misses her wistful moment, though. He's still looking at their entwined hands.]
Maybe I should get a new one. I dunno if it'll work, though...

If you did that, you know I'm going to have to break up with you on account of that being literally too cheesy to live.

Come on, tell me about this one.
[She taps the dragon up near the top of his chest, softly though. It might be mostly obscured by his shirt, but she knows where it is.]

It was like the one thing that would get me to come home on time in middle school. Run home to watch Dragon Ball on TV.
no subject
I just wanted a dragon tattoo after that.
no subject
I feel like I should've seen that coming.
... Hey, you think the cast of Dragon Ball might ever show up here? We've got like, Batman and Robin after all.
